Latte, Cibi, Collingwood

Angled to avoid being misconstrued as taking a photo of the stranger sitting opposite.
If I was in the habit of taking a copy of the Stuff White People Like checklist to cafes and ticking off everything that I saw, Cibi would quite easily be the winner. For starters, it's in Collingwood, the coffee is great, you can probably order some sort of Japanese vegetarian breakfast sandwich, and there is an old Apple product holding the door open.  I would have gotten here earlier, but I had to go back to the car to get my Moleskine and my iPhone*.

* It's not on the list, but white people really do like self-aware Stuff White People Like references. This is what separates hipsters from white people: they may be into a lot of the same stuff, but it's pretty hard to get a hipster to admit they are a hipster.

Long Macchiato, Dench, Fitzroy North

Is it just me or are long macs getting shorter? I'd be curious to know what I would have been served if I'd asked for a short mac. Well, it's in a long glass. And I prefer this to both the long-black-with-a-bit-of-milk and the espresso-hibernating-under-a-snowdrift-of-milk-foam approaches.
